--- From a review on Amazon.com
"Memories, Dreams, Reflections" helped me to establish a contextual framework for understanding the life of this truly seminal thinker and his work. It is an excellent place to start before diving into some of Jung's often esoteric and abstract essays, transcribed lectures, and books.

One of Jung's greatest achievements has been his ability to produce a new vocabulary for modern man to deal with the processes that occur where the personal psyche meets objective reality.

His genius lies in his blend of deep intuitive thinking and strict scientific empiricism. Jung's contributions are still slowly trickling down into the collective understanding of modern culture.

Synchronicity - An Acausal Connecting Principle
by Carl G. Jung

The concept of Synchronicity indicates a meaningful coincidence of two or more events, where something other than the probability of chance is involved.

Synchronicity elucidates meaningful arrangements and coincidence which somehow go beyond the calculations of probability.

Jung's only extended work in the field of parapsychology aims, on the one hand, to incorporate the findings of "extrasensory perception" (ESP) research into a general scientific point of view and, on the other, to ascertain the nature of the psychic factor in such phenomena.

Precognition, clairvoyance, telepathy, etc. are phenomena which are inexplicable by chance, but become empirically intelligible through the employment of the principle of Synchronicity, which suggests a kind of harmony at work in the interrelation of both psychic and physical events.

The Portable Jung
Edited by Joseph Campbell

From The Publisher:

This comprehensive collection of writings
by the epoch-shaping Swiss psychoanalyst Dr. Carl Jung
was edited by Joseph Campbell,
himself the most famous of Jung's American followers.

It comprises Jung's pioneering studies of the structure of the psyche - including the works that introduced such notions as the collective unconscious, the Shadow, Anima and Animus - as well as inquires into the psychology of spirituality and creativity, and Jung's influential "On Synchronicity", a paper whose implications extend from the I Ching to quantum physics.
